What is full-value coverage? If you purchase this type of coverage, your moving company will either replace a damaged or lost item with an article of similar kind and value, pay you for the replacement cost, repair the item or pay you the cost of any necessary repairs. What items should I move myself if I have time before the move? We recommend that you focus on packing and moving any highly breakable objects such as pictures and collectibles as well as very sentimental items. Can I ride with the movers on my moving day? No, moving companies do not allow passengers to accompany them in the moving truck for liability reasons. What is a full service move? This is the most common type of move where your moving company will transport all of your household goods to your new destination. They will be loaded from every room of your current residence and placed in the rooms of your new home. Individual pieces of furniture are also wrapped in blankets for protection during the move. Can I leave my clothing in dresser or chest drawers? You can leave lightweight clothing such as blouses, lingerie, shirts and sweaters in drawers. Should I store items that won’t fit in my new home? ?You can choose to store items that won’t fit. However, if you have items that are old or have little value, you may be better to sell or donate them instead of paying the high cost of storing them for a long period. ? Can my movers disconnect my gas? No, movers are not licensed to disconnect gas so you will have to hire another professional to perform this service. Do I have to tip movers?
